Accessibility Statement
(Last updated on October 29, 2025)
We at People’s Action for Development (PAD) are committed to making our website, www.padgom.org, accessible to all people — including individuals with disabilities.
We strive to ensure that every visitor can browse our site with ease, understand our content clearly, and engage with our work without barriers.
What web accessibility is
An accessible website allows visitors with disabilities to navigate, read, and interact with the site with the same or similar ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This is made possible by combining good web design with assistive technologies such as screen readers, text magnifiers, and keyboard navigation tools.
Accessibility adjustments on this site
We have designed and developed the PAD website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
This ensures that our website is usable by the widest range of people, regardless of their technology or ability.
-
As part of our ongoing commitment, we have:
-
Used accessibility auditing tools (including Wix Accessibility Wizard) to identify and fix potential issues.
-
Set the default language of the site as English (India).
-
Defined a logical and consistent heading structure across all pages.
-
Organized the content order to support screen readers and keyboard navigation.
-
Added alternative text to all images and icons.
-
Used color combinations that meet contrast standards for readability.
-
Reduced or removed any animated motion or flashing content that may cause discomfort.
-
Ensured that videos, audio clips, and downloadable files (e.g., PDFs) are accessible where possible.
-
Avoided using color as the only means of conveying information.
Our goal is to ensure that visitors using assistive technologies (such as JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver) can fully engage with PAD’s content.
Declaration of Partial Compliance
Some content on our site, such as embedded third-party videos (e.g., from YouTube) or external resources linked in our “Resources” section, may not fully comply with accessibility standards because they are generated and maintained by third parties.
We continue to monitor and update such content to improve accessibility wherever possible.
Accessibility Arrangements in Our Organization
PAD’s offices in Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi districts are accessible to community members and visitors.
We strive to ensure that our physical spaces are welcoming to everyone through:
-
Step-free entry to main offices
-
Seating and waiting areas are accessible to persons with mobility challenges
-
Restrooms with basic accessibility features
-
Assistance available from staff upon request
We continue to upgrade our facilities to improve accessibility for all.
